Born in Japan in 1976. After acquiring degree in architecture at Hokkaido University, Eiji moved to the USA to learn filmmaking in USC Summer School, Los Angeles. In 2001 he established an independent short film production Max Core Room Project, aiming to establish a new base for short filmmakers in Japan. In 2003 his thirteenth short film 6PM [7:30/DV/color/2003] was awarded BEST MINI-SHORT, as a first Japanese prize-winner at the California Independent Film Festival. In 2009, Under the Gingko Tree won BEST FOREIGN FILM at Mexico international film festival. In 2011, The Numberman Theory won Best Short Film at Bangkok Post 9 Film Fest. In parallel to his filmmaking, since 2002, he teaches filmmaking to children in elementary schools. He now teaches filmmaking as an associate professor at Hokkaido Information University.
島田英二 映像作家／北海道情報大学准教授
1976年北海道釧路市生まれ。北海道大学で建築を学んだ後、南カリフォルニア大学の映画制作ワークショップで映画制作を学ぶ。初期の短編映画作品「Hands」(2000年)は、日本国内を始めアメリカ、韓国、ブラジルなど５カ国で紹介されている。2001年、ショートフィルム産業の確立を目指すプロジェクト「MAX CORE ROOM PROJECT」を立ち上げ、経済産業省のコンテンツ制作支援事業に採択される。2002年、札幌のインタークロス・クリエイティブ・センターに入居、翌年には短編『6:00PM』(2003年)がカリフォルニア・インディペンデント・フィルムフェスティバルでグランプリを受賞。2010年には『数字男』がタイのバンコクポスト９映画祭でグランプリを受賞するなど、今若手で国際的に活躍できるインディペンデント系映像作家の一人として注目を集めている。制作活動のほか、2002年からは映像教育の活動も開始。オリジナル映像教育教材の開発や、小学校の総合学習の時間を利用した子どもたちの映像制作ワークショップ、講演活動も行っている。2008年より北海道情報大学情報メディア学科准教授に就任。

Tamas is a unit of creatives producing character contents. In 2005, Junjiro Kodama went to Italy to stay at FABRICA, a creative research center of Benetton. In 2005 and 2006, they were invited to take part of Creative Lapland Project, an artist residency program hosted by the city of Rovaniemi (Finland). One of their notable projects is KOLME, a series of uniquely designed characters.

Tamasはポキート・タマス、玉手みどり、こだまじゅんじろうからなるユニットでキャラクターコンテンツを制作している。2005年、こだまじゅんじろうがリサーチセンターFABRICAに研修生として参加する。2005年と2006年には、ロヴァニエミ市 （フィンランド）が主催するアーティストレジデンスプログラム『Creative Lapland Project』の招聘を受け、現地に滞在し作品の制作を行う。作品にTONTON、KOLMEなどがある。
