Snowbugs is an award winning creative agency in Japan.
The company creates digital contents, mainly short films, 2D character designs and animations. It also distributes and licenses these works.
The recent works include SILENT LAKE, a short film directed by Eiji Shimada. The film was sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and premiered in the prestigious Yubari Fantastic Film Festival.
In 2007, INSTRUCTION, a short film directed by Junjiro Kodama, won Grand-Prix in CLSA Film Festival (JAPAN).
Snowbugs is also known for its sophisticated character designs. Kolme, a series of character designs created by Tamas, is available at apple's download site. Tamas works internationally in recent years. The team participated Creative Lapland Project (Finland) in 2005 and also in 2006. With other project members, they developed a character called tonttu. 2 new shorts coming up. 1 new festival selection.
We've been working on 2 short films since the end of last year.
One is called "Potato Mayonnaise" directed by Eiji Shimada, and the other is called "Summer Christmas".
"Potato Mayonnaise" is set in a nicely old-fashioned bakery and tells the story about family ties.
"Summer Christmas" is made under an international collaborative project between Sapporo and Queensland, and all scenes were shot in Australia. Exciting.
"SILENT LAKE" directed by Eiji Shimada has been recently selected by California Independent Film Festival.
